TECHNIBLOCK
The Techniblock SPF 50 range has been updated and is now reef-friendly, which means it does not contain oxybenzone or octinoxate. However, this formula contains Homosalate, which is a UV filter, and as of July 2025, this ingredient is no longer permitted in aerosol sprays, although interestingly it is accepted in a lotion or cream. Following this update in UK cosmetic regulations, Techniblock will be replaced by our new brand, TechniSun.

Techniblock SPF 40 is the original Techniblock formula, which has now been discontinued. Once our stock has sold through, this will no longer be available as it has been replaced with more up-to-date, modern sunscreen technologies.

TECHNISUN
Our new generation sunscreen, TechniSun, contains the most up-to-date sunscreen ingredients and technologies and is our lightest, and highest quality sun protection yet. The reef-friendly, Vegan formula can be applied to both wet and dry skin for maximum protection and easy top-ups. The new range will consist of SPF 30, SPF 50 and a Kids SPF 50 and will be available in 2025.

PEACEFUL SLEEP INSECT REPELLENT
Peaceful Sleep contains DEET, which is a reliable and highly effective insect repellent. The chemical has been in public use since 1957.
Concentrations of DEET range from about 5% all the way up to 100% but products with 10% to 35% DEET will provide adequate protection under most circumstances. Products with higher concentrations of DEET do not offer significantly greater protection, and the risk of negative health effects goes up too. In addition, users complain that DEET in higher concentrations are known to be greasy, leaving a sticky residue, smell awful and irritate sensitive skin.
Peaceful Sleep contains 15% DEET and provides up to 8 hours of mosquito protection. Increasing the DEET concentration to 100% gives only about one extra hour of protection.
EXPIRY DATE/PAO/BATCH NUMBERS
The following statement is documented in the Cosmetics Europe, the Personal Care Association (which used to be COLIPA) website, and is also published in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Directory and Handbook by the PCPC (Personal Care Product Council), previously known as the CTPA (Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association).
For products that remain durable for more than 30 months, the date of minimum durability (“best used before date”) should consist of either the Month and Year (MM/YYYY) or the day, month and year DD/MM/YYYY in that order, or a “period after opening” to show for how long the product may be kept or used.
Exceptions are products in containers where there is no opportunity for contamination, ie. Aerosols, which are effectively sealed, single use products including sachets or if the manufacturer determines there is no risk of deterioration impacting on the safety of the consumer from first use.
Our products are all housed in an airtight canister and have passed the 30-month durability and SPF stability testing processes. All aerosols are CFC-free and our formulas are free from oils, emulsifiers, parabens, lanolin, talc, preservatives and artificial colourants.
All cosmetic products should have a batch number of the Manufacturer or a reference for the identification of the cosmetic product (Article 19(1)(e) of the Cosmetics Regulation). For packaged products, such a number or reference can be placed on the container and the packaging. However, Article 19(1)(e) of the Cosmetics Regulation allows for the reference not to appear on the container when practically impossible due to the small size of the product.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply in a sheltered but ventilated area. Hold can 10-15cms away and spray on to the skin, using the palm of the hand to spread if desired. Do not spray directly on to face but apply to hand and smooth over face, neck and ears. Avoid contact with eyes and broken skin. Re-apply after prolonged contact with water, excessive perspiration and after towel drying.
Our sunscreens contain anti-staining technology to help minimise transference onto light clothing. However, all sunscreens stain because UV filters are yellow in colour. To minimise staining, apply and allow to dry before dressing. Do not spray directly onto clothing.
Apply sunscreen before applying insect repellent.
